Addressing thousands of people at the Koinadugu Town Field over the past weekend on the auspicious occasion of the official recognition and welcome to the fold of the APC of senior indigenes of the district who have decided to return to the party of their origin by denouncing their membership of the SLPP, PMDC and NDA, the APC Koinadugu district chairman Comrade Dr. Fasineh Samura describes the day as the happiest for the people of Koinadugu and the moment as awesome and unforgettable.
He expressed optimism that Koinadugu will match toward the 2012 elections in full support of the APC and that the APC will obviously clinch the six parliamentary seats and over 90% of the votes to be cast at the 2012 presidential election to give President Koroma a comfortable edge over any other contender.
Recounting the long trail of persuasion and convincing, Dr. Samura likened the 2012 elections to a return football match with the APC being the host team in Koinadugu and the SLPP the visiting team. He said the opposition SLPP have been dispossessed of its key players (Alhaji Batorma Sheriff et al) and the goalkeeper (Julius Maada Bio) has been awarded a red card (denied by the people for gross human rights violations) even before the start of the game.
He disclosed that after the 2009 APC delegates conference at Makeni, his executive resolved to embark on a membership drive by appealing to their kith and kin to see reason to join the APC and support President Koroma’s development agenda.
The APC Koinadugu district chairman highlighted political tolerance and persuasion as the catalyst behind the APC’s ultimate dominance of the district. He said the people of Koinadugu are politically united for development.
He said the district executive warmly welcomes into the fold of the APC the sons and daughters of the district who have so desire to return to the party of their origin.
The APC chairman further pointed out their inclusion confirms the APC’s dominance of the district. He appealed to all and sundry, to work together for the growth of the APC and the development of Koinadugu district.
Speaking also the epoch making occasion, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Development II F. B. L. Mansaray called on the people to come out in their numbers to register when NEC commences voter registration early next year.
He elucidated on the new system of voter registration pointing out the virtues of the biometric system of registration. The Deputy Minister further educated the people on the pattern of registration and its procedures.
He enjoined the APC Koinadugu district chairman is describing the occasion as a memorable and soul-touching event which marks a significant turning point in the APC’s foraging spree and further extended a hearty welcome to Alhaji Batorma Sheriff et al describing them as people returning to where they rightfully belong.




In response to cries of the aged and other vulnerable groups of elders who lack source of income from any pension scheme, the APC government of President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma through the Social Safety Net Secretariat of Ministry of Labour and Social Security at New England Ville, Freetown, is on the verge to soon make payments of allowances to these persons as the verification process comes to an end, according to reliable source in the secretariat.
The 2007 Presidential and Parliamentary elections witnessed a dramatic twist in Sierra Leone political set-up with the removal from power of a ruling party by an opposition party.
