According to the Head of the Delegation Comrade Bai Mahmoud Bangura, they travelled to China to represent the APC party in a training course organised by the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Cadres of Ruling Parties in Africa. He disclosed to this medium that, five African countries namely Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Zambia were invited to participate in the training course. He however maintained that the Sierra Leone APC Delegation provided the adequate representation expected of them. "Delegates from other countries were smartly outwitted by the youthfulness and vibrancy of our own team", the young and determined Bai Mahmoud noted which he said is a demonstration that the APC as a political entity is committed to youth empowerment. He further went on to highlight that the training course was centred on briefings of China's socio-economic reforms, nation building and open-up policy, adding that it was a course rich in content especially for developing countries. As part of the training the APC delegation to China also visited five provinces of the Peoples Republic of China to see Chinese economic and infrastructural development and some historic and scenic places. Certificates of Participation were awarded to each delegate from the five African countries. Other members of the APC delegation were Ralph E. Sawyer formerly of the Rising Sun Radio, Sarran Kabba of We Yone Press, Bockarie Juana Smith a member of the Kenema executive and Cecilia Ngobeh Chairlady Bo district. |
