As the Sierra Leone Police commence prosecution of Hon. Foday Rado Yokie and 13 others in the matter between The State versus Hon. Foday Rado Yokie and 13 others the initial refusal of bail by presiding Magistrate Wellington past Monday resulting to the accused persons been remanded at Pademba Road Prisons until Thursday October 13th 2011, the opposition SLPP in their usual bid to castigate the APC government of President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma seeks to give the impression the accused persons are political detainees.

“SLAJ President is a Disgrace to BBC”

The SLAJ President who also doubles as the BBC stringer in Sierra Leone, Umaru Fofana, stunned the Sierra leone public when over the weekend he said in a television programme he did not witness the past Friday's State Opening of Parliament because he was not invited.

"Does Umaru Fofana actually need an invitation to attend and report such an important state function," questioned Mariatu Kargbo in disgust.

Ferreh Musu of Konta Line in Koya Rural District opined in a telephone interview with We Yone Umaru Fofana's boycott of the State Opening is by extention his show of solidarity with the opposition SLPP.

Bo Violence: As Police Begins Arrest, SLPP Cries Foul

Reports reaching We Yone indicate the Sierra Leone Police has commence the arrest and interrogation of persons suspected to have played roles, following the alleged stoning of the SLPP presidential flag-bearer Julius Maada Bio, that culminated to the burning of three houses in Bo including the APC office in Bo and the residence of the APC Bo district chairman Sheik Sillah, wounding of several people including the APC Bo district chairlady Zainab Mansaray who is currently seeking medical attention in Ghana and the death of an ‘Okada’ rider.

In Line With APC’s Agenda for Change!130 Million Leones WAPFoR- Sponsored Water Project Kicks-off at Kossoh Town

In line with APC’s Agenda for Change geared towards addressing felt needs in deprived communities especially in area of providing pipe-borne water supply, a 130 Million Leones WAPFoR-sponsored water project has kicked off at Kossoh Town community, Constituency 92, Waterloo Rural District over the weekend where the first phase of the project, i.e. construction of the water dam is in earnest.
Speaking to We Yone at the worksite on the hills overlooking Kossoh Town, the Headman for the village, Victor Haffner described the project as “God-sent”.

…Back To Kailahun and The Irony of The Legendary Court ‘Barray’

Sierra Leoneans would recall the electoral malpractice that was perpetrated by then ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) in Kailahun Court ‘Barray’ during the 2007 Presidential run-off election which warranted the National Electoral Commission (NEC) to cancel the results in addition to other places where vote rigging was proved beyond all reasonable doubt.

With this in mind, when I was called upon by the organizers of a recent programme facilitated by the President Koroma APC-led government through Paramount Chief Al-Amin Kanneh of Baoma Koya chiefdom and Ahmed Sesay –Secretary General of ECOPOD to provide levels of assistance to surviving families of late victims killed in a gruesome road accident along the Kenema-Kailahun road, I was eager to accompany them so as to gauge the changing political dynamics. SALONE IS TOO SMALL FOR TRIBALISM

When issues of racism, nepotism or tribalism are unveiled in a public forum, it is a serious and grave cause for concern. The requirements of peaceful co-existence mandate that we should find strength in our diversity and that our communities must benefit from the variety of inputs and the myriad of backgrounds and socializations that imbues that diversity. However, a diverse and culturally self-assured organization does not happen by chance. It is the result of a willful effort by its membership to create a conducive environment so that their engagements at all levels combine to build that atmosphere of equality, openness and transparency. Such an open and fluid interaction amongst people of different backgrounds augurs well for the process of change and dynamism which makes for organically growing organizations.

Damning UDM Leader’s Finger Pointing

We Yone was actually absent at the press briefing organized by the UDM at which the National Chairman Mohamed Bangura opined We Yone has started campaigning ahead of the 2012 elections in contravention of established statutes.

Nevertheless, reports of the press briefing in some local newspapers past Friday imply the UDM leader wrongfully castigated We Yone.
