
Young People Reiterate Calls For Peaceful And Safe Transition

The leadership of the Youth Wing of the All Peoples Congress, at a Press Conference on the We Yone House last Thursday, reiterated calls for peaceful and safe transition.
The APC Young folks were making an initial reaction of the position of young people over the Chairman and Leader’s decision to exist main stream politics and his intention not to contest for any position in the upcoming national delegates’ conference.
Outgoing President of the APC National Youth League said it is apparent that a good number of people are receiving the news with disdain, displeasure and discomfort, but emphasized, there was nothing to worry about.
Bai Mahmoud Bangura said the outgoing Chairman and Leader had done his assignment well and that as young people, they are very confident, the party is at the right trajectory to win the next general elections in Sierra Leone come 2023. Alie Conteh, Secretary General of the Young People, while reading the official press release, stressed there was nothing to worry about.
‘‘The Leadership of the National Young Congress (NYC) along with its membership has noted and fully assimilated the position of the Chairman and Leader and his intention to exit the political stage and his strong reassurances not to contest for any position in the next National Delegates Conference of the party,’’ he said, noting the former President’s Commitment to peace, security and promotion of democracy and good governance.
This, he added form essential features of his distinguished leadership throughout his tenure as Chairman and Leader of the APC and as President of Republic of Sierra Leone.
